Today, approximately 6,000 women in approximately 200 chapters across the United States are NAWIC members.

Members of the Association are business owners/managers, executives, subcontractors, accountants and estimators. Members are also employed in construction trades, including welding, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.

The award-winning program introduces children to the construction industry in an effort to create an awareness of and to promote an interest in future careers in one of the many facets of the industry. The program is open to all elementary school children in grades 1-6. The competition involves the construction of various structures with interlocking blocks and three of the following additional items: A small rock, string, foil and poster board. Local winners advance to Regional Competition and one semi-finalist from each region is entered in the National Program competions. National prizes are awarded to the top three projects.

Topic: Projects to serve the community!

This month we welcome Aaron Murphy, Volunteer Coordinator for Rebuilding Together Central Ohio. He will be speaking with us about projects that we as a group or as individuals can help with. Rebuilding Together Central Ohio is a volunteer driven initiative that serves the community through the Safe at Home and the Tool Library programs. The Safe at Home program provides emergency home repairs and safety modifications to low income senior and permanently disabled homeowners. The Tool Library offers tools and knowledge to neighbors and non‐profit partners, giving them the resources to maintain their homes and revitalize their communities. Rebuilding Together’s  focus is to have everyone live in warm, safe, and dry home with independence and dignity.
